I use Relational Life Therapy with my couples.
Relational Life Therapy works to reconnect a person with their feelings and needs- and build a strong relationship with their partner. The first step is getting a clear understanding of what you want in your relationship and why it’s important for you.
You’ll experience me helping you get what you need from your partner. And, with compassion, I give direct feedback on how you and your partner’s behaviors may be blocking you from getting what you want.
I teach and model healthy communication skills in sessions. For example, showing you how to change your complaints into requests and how to problem-solve as a team.

No, I don't accept insurance. For your convenience, I can provide you with superbills and invoices if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
-
Insurance may require access to your records to seek justification of service and they can dictate treatment frequency and duration. This also leaves me with more paperwork and less time with my couples.
Cutting out the third-party payer means- FREEDOM from time restraints and red tape.

I have experience and feel comfortable working with same-sex couples. My experiences generally include two female-identifying partners. People who are non-binary. People who have openly disclosed they are trans with me.
I’m no expert. I live a cis-gendered life and I’m in a heterosexual relationship. But I'm a student who is open to learning about my clients’ lived experiences. I also seek consultation with clinicians who are within the LGBTQ community. -
This varies based on your needs and treatment goals. I’ve worked with clients from a few months to over a year.
There may be times when I recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions.

I work with couples in a non-traditional but effective way. Typically, I begin with a 3-hour intensive session for a new couple and meet with them for 90-minute sessions twice a month.

A way to start the conversation with your supervisor can look like this: “Hey [ boss name] I have some important medical appointments coming up- they will be at [ xyz time] every two weeks”
Some clients have shared with their employers that they are attending couples therapy and have been met with support and understanding.
Remember that you are entitled to healthcare privacy for mental health care services. So you can decide how much (or little) information you want to provide to your employer.

As of January 2025, I exclusively work with couples. This is due to the need for couples therapy in our community.
